Christmas Jumper Day 2016
On 16th December 2016, Advantis staff participated in Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for Save the Children.
The charity provides essentials such as protection, healthcare, education and food to millions of children all over the world who require support.
Advantis staff embraced the Christmas spirit in their festive finery and we are delighted to advise that we raised a total of £197.94 for the charity.
Children in Need 2016
In 2016, Advantis held two separate events to raise money for Children in Need. The first of these was a Halloween fancy dress competition and dress down day.
There were some fantastic costumes on display and our competition raised £237.66 for Children in Need.
Advantis’ second event took place on 18th November where a raffle and spots competition were held. Staff sported spots from head to toe and our raffle raised £450.62, bringing our Children in Need fundraising total to £688.28.
Advantis is delighted to have made this donation and would like to extend our thanks to staff who donated so generously and to companies in the local area who donated prizes for our raffle.
Macmillan Coffee Morning 2016
On 30th September 2016, Advantis held a coffee morning and bake sale in support of Macmillan. Our employees baked a fantastic array of cakes and showed a huge amount of support for the charity via their donations.
The first Macmillan Coffee Morning took place in 1990 and since then the coffee mornings have raised over £138 million.
The money raised helps Macmillan to provide medical, financial and emotional support to those affected by cancer, as well as enabling the charity to campaign for better cancer care.
Our coffee stall and cake sale raised a total of £257.89 and we’re delighted to be able to make this donation to such a worthy cause.
Jeans for Genes Day 2016
On 23rd September 2016, Advantis employees participated in Jeans for Genes Day by dressing down in denim to show their support. We are delighted to confirm that we raised £142.29 for Genetic Disorders UK.
The money raised will help children across the UK who are affected by genetic disorders. We’d like to thank all employees for donating and making it possible for Advantis to assist such a fantastic cause.
Sport Relief 2016
In March 2016, Advantis held a fund raising day to raise money for the Sport Relief appeal.
Staff participated in a dress down day and bake sale and thanks to their generous donations we were able to raise £238.11 for the charity.
All money raised for Sport Relief helps to change lives both in the UK and abroad and enables the charity to help children attend school, provide lifesaving vaccines and mental health support.
Advantis Children in Need Fundraising (27/11/2015)
In November 2015, Advantis once again hosted a fund raising day to raise money for the Children in Need Appeal. Staff were invited to take part in a ‘Be a Hero’ themed dress down day where they could dress as their childhood hero. We also held a bake sale and a charity raffle with prizes being donated by a number of local businesses.
The day was a complete success and we are thrilled to announce that we were able to raise a fantastic £627.25 for Children in Need.
In addition to our event in November, we also organised a Halloween themed dress down in October to raise even more money for the Children in Need appeal. We welcomed an array of scary characters into our office on Friday 30th October 2015, with staff dressing up as skeletons, zombies, pirates, Disney villains and characters from the Nightmare Before Christmas to name a few. We also had a fancy dress competition and the person with the best costume was presented with a bottle of Champagne. Our Halloween dress down day raised an impressive £230.00.
We are delighted that we raised a total of £857.25 for the Children in Need Appeal 2015.

Comic Relief 2015
On Friday 13th March, Advantis staff took part in a fundraising day to raise money for the Comic Relief Red Nose Day appeal. We organised a number of fundraising activities, including a dress-down day, charity raffle, Advantis Bake-Off, and bake sale to raise money for the Comic Relief appeal.
The day was a great success, with many local businesses donating fantastic prizes for our raffle. With their support and the support of our staff we raised an impressive £507.00 for Comic Relief.
Comic Relief funds projects around the world to provide a better standard of living to people of all ages and we are pleased to be able to make this contribution.
Children in Need Appeal 2014
In November 2014, Advantis once again showed their support for the BBC Children in Need charity appeal by arranging a number of fundraising activities for our staff, including:

Raffle with prizes donated by the management team and local businesses
All of our staff showed an enormous amount of support and were very generous in their donations. Advantis were determined to beat last year’s total, and were delighted to raise a grand total of £536.00. We are pleased to be able to make this donation to the Children in Need Appeal. The charity does some fantastic work and we are happy to support such a worthwhile cause.
Head of Collections completes 9 charity challenges to raise money for Beechwood Cancer Care Centre 2014
In 2014 our Head of Collections, Claire, set herself a challenge to complete 9 events in order to raise money for Beechwood Cancer Care in Stockport. She signed up to complete a range of events including long distance obstacle courses, half-marathons and even an Abseil. The events were as follows:

Beechwood Cancer Care Centre is a registered charity based in Stockport. It was established in 1990 as a day care centre to help and support patients, carers and family members who are affected by cancer and other life-limiting illness.
To show our support for Claire and the fantastic work she is doing, Advantis organised fundraising activities including a dress-down day and bake sale with all proceeds going to Beechwood Cancer Care Centre. We are delighted to announce that Claire raised a grand total of £1,742.22 for Beechwood Cancer Care Centre.
Angela Gray, Fundraising Manager at Beechwood Cancer Care, commented on Claire”s fundraising saying: “At Beechwood we rely heavily on voluntary donations so we are thrilled that Claire has chosen to support us. She is so amazing and we are really proud of her.”
Sport Relief 2014
On 21st March 2014, Advantis employees donned their aprons and chef”s hats and got involved in The Great Bake Off to raise money for Sport Relief. We held a dress-down day and bake sale in order to raise money for the Sport Relief Charity.
We are thrilled to announce that we raised £373.00 for the Sport Relief charity. All money raised helps to change lives both in the UK and abroad. In the UK, Sport Relief help give shelter to young people living on the streets and protection to those living with domestic abuse. Across the world, the money raised helps children into education and provides communities with fresh water and life-saving vaccines.
Children in Need 2013
In November 2013 Advantis staff took part in a number of fundraising activities in order to raise money for the BBC Children in Need charity. Our fundraising activities included:
Dress down day
Wear your onesie to work
All of our staff were committed to raising as much money as possible for Children in Need and in addition to making monetary donations, some went the extra mile in order to raise funds. One of our Consumer Collections Agents shaved his head (and face) for charity and Managers in our Call Centre came to work in their onesies. This included their journey to and from work whether on foot, by car, on the train or by bus.
The Children in Need charity is committed to helping disadvantaged children across the UK, and every penny that is raised goes towards making a difference. This year the Children in Need Appeal was bigger than ever before and the event was a great success with the charity raising a grand total of £31.1 million, the highest total ever raised.
I am pleased to announce that this year Advantis raised a total of £379.00 for the Children in Need Charity thanks to the efforts and generosity of our staff.
Teenage Cancer Trust– June 2013
On Saturday 15th June the Senior Management Team at Advantis took part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge, along with other local businesses.
Their aim was to climb Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales) within 24 hours, to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.
The Team raised a total of over £5,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
To show their support, all Advantis employees took part in fundraising activities including a dress down day and bake sale in order to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. Their efforts raised a total of £251.00.
“Movember” – Changing the face of men’s health- November 2012
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of mens’ faces in the UK and around the world. The aim is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
On the 1st November, five cleanly shaven Advantis staff members registered for Movember and proceeded to grow, groom and trim their moustaches for the remaining 29 days of the month, raising £153 in the process.
Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement. In 2010, over 112,000 people in the UK got on board, raising £11.7 million.
