Advantis moves to ISO 27001:2013 standard
Advantis recently completed a successful transition from the original 2005 Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard to the new and improved ISO 27001:2013 certification.
The new standard was launched in September 2013 and supersedes the original standard. It places more emphasis on measuring how well an organisation’s ISMS is performing and includes a section which highlights the fact that organisations rely heavily on third party suppliers to provide some aspects of IT services.
ISO27001:2013 is the international standard that describes best practice for a company’s Information Security management System. An ISMS is a framework of an organisation’s policies and procedures, made up of legal, physical and technical controls involved in the risk management processes of a business.
Accreditation to ISO 27001 demonstrates that an organisation is following international information security best practices.
